This year's QS World University Rankings by Subject placed the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music 24th in the Performing Arts category and 12th in music education, which means it is among the best higher education institutions in the world.

The building of the Liszt Academy’s Kecskemét institution was modernized and outfitted with additional classrooms and state-of-the-art educational technology during an extensive, multi-year reconstruction.

Some seventy-five Hungarian and foreign students, along with their instructors, went on a three-day field trip recently to Győr, Rohrau, Eisenstadt, Eszterháza, and Sopron.

Dr. Zsuzsanna Polyák received the honorable invitation in a unanimous vote at the Society's extraordinary general meeting.

On 8 September the 2023-2024 Academic Year officially began at the Institute in the BA, MA and non-degree training courses with students from 18 different countries.

Dr. Mihály Ittzés, regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, former deputy director of the Kodály Institute

Mihály Ittzés' rich oeuvre still stands as an example to all of us who worked with him at the Kodály Institute.

The highly recognised Move mi Music application is now available in 7 languages: Chinese (simplified), French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish versions have been launched to enrich the already existing original languages, English and Hungarian.

The International Kodály Musicianship Certificate is a new initiative that aims at raising awareness in the importance of general musicianship training for all professional musicians and music educators.

The aim of Katalin Kiss' book is to support conservatory students (aged 14-22) and their teachers with a collection of carefully selected materials from which to learn the necessary musical concepts and practical knowledge of music theory, form, and harmony.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese Association for Music Education (APEM), Professor Cristína Brito da Cruz, Director of the Kodály Centre of Portugal compiled a significant study on the most outstanding music education movements in Portugal including an overview of the adaptation of the Kodály - concept as well.

We were happy to see more and more of our students coming back to Kecskemét and excited to meet new students who made their big decisions of moving to Hungary to study at the Institute in the 2022-23 academic year. 

The Institute's alumni community lost a lovely member on 21 August.
We were shocked to learn about the death of Jessica Hatton (Canada), student of the 2013-2014 academic year at the Institute. 

Our Erasmus+ Strategic partnership project PRESTO - Practices and Resources for Equipping Schools to Teach Music Online has completed the third study trip, this time to Edinburgh where our project partner, the National Youth Choir of Scotland held the NYCOS Kodály Summer School 2022.
