Dr. Mihály Ittzés, regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, former deputy director of the Kodály Institute
Mihály Ittzés' rich oeuvre still stands as an example to all of us who worked with him at the Kodály Institute.
Mihály Ittzés became an employee of the Institute in 1973, even before the Institute accepted its first foreign students. In this position, he helped the development of the domestic and international presence of the Kodály Institute. He was one of the most knowledgeable analysts and popularizers of Hungarian music, and within that, of Zoltán Kodály's oeuvre. He became an indispensable figure not only in the Kodály Institute, but also in the musical life of the city of Kecskemét thanks to his wide-ranging knowledge, and to his interest in musical public life and to his active participation in musical public life.
