“We should love music with love, but more importantly the ones we teach”

A 5-strong project consortium led by the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy has been awarded a significant funding of ~270.000€ through the Erasmus+ ‘Strategic Partnerships Call in Response to Covid-19’.

On the occassion of 15th March, Hungary’s National Day, HE President János Áder gave the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit, the highest national award to two outstanding musicians who live and work outside Hungary.

6th of March is the day when we regularly visit the Farkasréti Cemetery to pay tribute to Zoltán Kodály at his grave. This year the coronavirus restrictions allowed only a very modest, though very heartful commemoration on a beautiful sunny spring day.

Our teacher Máté Balogh won a shared 3rd prize at the II. Impronta Ensemble Composition Competition in Mannheim with his string quartet composition Der Rhein am Tomasee.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns and restrictions, our renovation project has been progressing in the recent months. Since our last report, we have completed all works related to the renovation of the outside elements of the monastery building.
