Intensive Preparatory Course for the MA Entrance Examination

An 8-week intensive online preparatory course between 8 April - 31 May 2024

For those who seek to apply for our MA in Kodály Music Pedagogy programme starting in September 2024.

This new preparatory programme is offered for those who would like to further improve their skills and knowledge in the field of musicianship, piano and voice, focusing on the requirements of the MA entrance exam.

 

The number of students is limited.

Participation in this preparatory course does not guarantee automatic admission to the Institute's MA degree programme, the MA in Kodály Music Pedagogy. Applications for the MA programme must be submitted separately until the deadline of 31 March 2024. MA entrance exam will be held online on 3-5 June, 2024. 


Course Content:

The programme includes subjects that prepare students for the challenges of the entrance exam of the MA degree course:

  • 1.5 hours class of musicianship / week
  • 2x30 mins individual occasions of consultation with regards to the MA entrance examination focusing on piano and singing


Tuition fee: 200000 HUF 
(to be paid after receiving the individual letter of acceptance)


Pre-requisites and requirements:

  • Ongoing or completed BA studies in the field of Music 
  • Professional CV, motivation letter, and copy of the highest school certificate translated into English must be attached.
  • The language of the course is ENGLISH; therefore, applicants must have a good command of spoken and written English.*

*Please note: when applying for the MA degree programme, non-native English speakers must submit proof of English proficiency. As a guide, we expect a level similar to TOEFL (=Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a score of 72-83 (Internet-Based), or 200-220 (Computer-Based), or 533-560 (Paper-Based) or an equivalent of this exam (e.g. IELTS Band 7 or higher).
