PRESTO Team's Study Trip to Scotland
Our Erasmus+ Strategic partnership project PRESTO - Practices and Resources for Equipping Schools to Teach Music Online has completed the third study trip, this time to Edinburgh where our project partner, the National Youth Choir of Scotland held the NYCOS Kodály Summer School 2022.
For the members of the PRESTO team it was a great opportunity to get a complete overview of the achievements of the NYCOS Education Team.
We could join sessions of the following activities:
- Morning warm ups
- Solfége Musicianship (Levels 1/2; 3/4; 5/6; 7/8; 9/10)
- Singing Games for All
- Exploring Diverse Repertoire
- Repertoire for Young Choirs
- Developing Aural Skills (Secondary/Tertiary)
- Ensemble Singing
- New Go for Bronze (Primary)
- The use of British Sign Language in Kodály-based music education
The closing ceilidh and two wonderful live concerts featuring emerging young musicians, „nycosians” i.e.: Ankna Arockiam & Friends and Hannah Rarity & Friends made the trip truly remarkable and unforgettable.
Further PRESTO project updates in terms of NYCOS undertakings, presentation of the results so far, the current challenges of the Scottish Music Education System and a discussion on pending project issues closed the trip.
