KÓTA Lifetime Achievement Award to Péter Erdei

Péter Erdei, founding director of the Kodály Institute, an Artist of Merit of Hungary and Liszt and Bartók-Pásztory Prize winner, who started his conducting career 50 years ago, received the award on 20 January, 2019 at a festive concert held in the ceremonial hall of the St Imre Cistercian High School of Buda.

 

The Award was established in 2004 by KÓTA, the Association of Hungarian Choirs, Orchestras and Ensembles as a recognition of outstanding artistic work and sacrificial activity for the community. The Award, which can be won by the most excellent representatives of non-professional choirs, orchestras and folk ensembles every year, is voted in twelve categories. The Award was presented on the occasion of the Hungarian Day of Culture (22 January).
