Composer Lőrinc Szécsi was born in Budapest in 1993. He began his musical studies at the age of 8 at the György Solti Music School, where he studied classical guitar with Sylvia Gyelmis and later classical piano with Erika Mayer. As a teenager, he became interested in jazz music and received private lessons from the renowned jazz guitarist András Párniczky. He completed his secondary school studies at the Egressy Béni Conservatory, where he studied classical guitar under Ede Roth. After graduating, he attended the ETŰD Conservatory, where he continued his jazz studies with Párniczky. Here, he became interested in composition and began to master the basic composition techniques with Marcell Dargay. In 2014, he was admitted to the composition department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he studied for five years under the guidance of Zsolt Serei. After completing his master's degree, he was admitted to the Academy's doctoral school, where he is currently writing his doctoral dissertation on the concertos of András Szőllősy.
