Éva Madarász obtained her first degrees in piano at the Debrecen Regional Teacher Training College of the Liszt Academy of Music in 1994 and 1997, qualifying her to teach piano and chamber music at various school levels. She completed a 2-year MA-programme as a répétiteur and piano accompanist at the Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest in 1999. Her most influential teachers were Mária Radványi, Imre Hargitai, Emilia Varasdy, Iván Madarász and György Vashegyi.
During her studies, she was affiliated with various music schools in Central Hungary as a piano teacher, and Hungary’s leading flute player Béla Drahos contracted her as a piano accompanist and coach.
The Liszt Academy of Music invited her to join the Voice Department, where she worked as a vocal coach and répétiteur from 1999 to 2003.
Her outstanding teaching skills and wide range of experience with various student age groups have led her to Kecskemét, where since 2004 she has been engaged in the widely renowned Zoltán Kodály Music Secondary School teaching piano, working as an accompanist, and being responsible for organising and managing summer music camps for the pupils. Her students are highly successful in regional and national competitions.
She joined the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy of Music in 2016, as a piano teacher and vocal coach.
She is one of the most celebrated accompanists of wind instrumentalists and singers in Hungary. She has been invited by leading artists such as flute players Eszter Alföldy-Boruss, Bea Berényi, János Bálint, István Barth, Béla Drahos, Ákos Dratsay, István Matuz, and Zsolt Romos, clarinettists András Horn, Csaba Klenyán and János Maczák, as well as bassoonist György Lakatos. Recently she has started working with brass players as well.
The singers she regularly works with are Tamás Altorjay, Andrea Csereklyei, Anatoliy Fokanov, János Klézli, Judit Rajk and Katalin Szutrély. She is often invited as a coach or accompanist to various masterclasses all over the world.
Éva has been often invited to perform chamber and choral works by Hungarian contemporary composers such as László Dubrovay, Gyula Fekete, Miklós Kocsár, György Orbán, Árpád Solti, Erzsébet Szőnyi, Péter Tóth, Lajos Vass, etc. She has worked with conductors Mátyás Antal, Péter Erdei, László Gerhát, Zsolt Hamar, Gábor Hollerung, Katalin Kiss, János Laczkó and Csaba Somos.
She has an extensive ongoing collaboration with the Kecskemét Symphonic Orchestra, where she has been the principal pianist since 2012, and appears regularly at concerts throughout the season as well as in the Summer Kodály Festival in Kecskemét.
