Boldizsár Kiss

Boldizsár Kiss is leading the Pax et Bonum Chamber Choir, Budapest as an artistic leader and conductor and he is the conductor of the Béla Bartók Chamber Choir, Szolnok. He is teaching at the Kodály Institute from 2024.

Education:

Boldizsár Kiss was a scholar of the Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest between 2010 and 2018. He received his Bachelor degree as an Orchestral and Choral Conductor in 2013. In 2016 he finished his MA Choral Conducting studies. He got his second MA diploma Master in Teacher of General Music Studies and School Music Teacher with highest honor in 2018. His most influential professors were Peter Erdei, István Párkai, Csaba Somos and László Norbert Nemes.

In 2015, he spent a semester with an Erasmus scholarship at Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik, Berlin in the class of Professor Jörg-Peter Weigle.

Teaching Experience:

He was teaching solfege and music theory and led the male choir in the St. Stephan Music Secondary School, Budapest between 2017 and 2023.

He worked at the Hungarian State Opera as conductor and piano accompanist of the Children's Chorus between 2016 and 2019.

2020-Present: Conductor and artistic director of Pax et Bonum Chamber Choir, Budapest

2019-Present: Conductor of the Béla Bartók Chamber Choir, Szolnok (HU)

2015-2020: Conductor and artistic director of the Saint Joseph Choir, Budapest

2013-2015: Conductor of the Vass Lajos Symphonic Orchestra, Budapest

Awards:

2024 - Audience Prize and Special Prize for the Best Conductor at the 6th International Choral Competition Ave Verum, Baden bei Wien, Austria – with the Pax et Bonum Chamber Choir.

2022 - 1st Prize in the category of chamber choirs and Grand Prix of the competition at the 9th Zoltán Kodály National Choir Competition, Budapest – with the Pax et Bonum Chamber Choir.

2013 - 1st Prize and Audience Prize at the Competition for Young Choir Conductors in Memoriam Rezső Lantos at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Budapest.
