Special Week at the Institute - 11-16 February, 2019

18 February 2019

Every year, the Institute organises a 3-5-day long programme in February or March, when, instead of the regular lessons, students have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of special lectures, workshops and other activities that do not fit into the regular timetable.

The Special Week, held between 11-15 February in 2019, offered several interesting lectures and workshops. Students could take part in Dalcroze, Orff and Kodály workshops held by guest teachers and faculty of the Institute.
Guests included Silvia del Bianco and Sylvie Morgenegg from the Dalcroze Institute, and Antje Bloeme Müller and Doris Valtiner-Pühringer from the Orff Institute.
Lajos Rozmán, professor of the Kodály Institute held a demonstration class on László Sáry's Creative musical games.
There was a masterclass by the professors of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance: "Musical Mirrors and other methods from Israel" by Veronica Cohen and Michal Hefer. Esther Hargittai from the Guildhall School of Music Junior Training Programme (London, UK) presented Israeli songs and dances.
The British Kodály Academy's Study Tour was also organized during the Special Week.
