Intensive Preparatory Course for the MA Entrance Examination 2026
An intensive 8-week online preparatory course between 16 March - 22 May 2026
For those who seek to apply for our MA in Kodály Music Pedagogy programme starting in September 2026.
This preparatory programme is offered for those who would like to further improve their skills and knowledge in the field of musicianship, piano and voice, focusing on the requirements of the MA entrance exam.
The number of students is limited.
Course Content:
The programme includes subjects that prepare students for the challenges of the entrance examination of the MA degree course:
- 1.5 hours class of Musicianship / week
- 1 hour class of Western Music History (practical summary) / week
- 2 occasions of individual consultation (45-min) with regards to the MA entrance examination focusing on piano and singing
(The 2 occasions can be done any time during the 8 weeks, the exact day and time will discussed individually.)
Tuition fee: 950 EUR (to be paid after receiving the individual letter of acceptance)
Pre-requisites and requirements:
- Ongoing or completed BA studies in the field of music
- Professional CV, motivation letter, and copy of the highest school certificate translated into English must be attached.
- The language of the course is ENGLISH; therefore, applicants must have a good command of spoken and written English.*

Classes start on the week of 16 March, 2026.
Planned schedule of the Musicianship classes: Thursdays or Fridays 13:30-15:00 pm CET (Hungarian time)
Planned schedule of the Western Music History classes: Tuesdays 13:00-14:00 pm CET (Hungarian time)
There will be a Spring/Eastern break during the 8 weeks.
The exact schedule will be discussed with the applicants and announced after the application deadline.

*Please note: when applying for the MA degree programme, non-native English speakers must submit proof of English proficiency. As a guide, we expect an intermediate, type C general language, or intermediate (B2) complex-type state-recognized exam, or an equivalent: TOEFL iBT min. 60, IELTS Academic min. 6.0, Cambridge min. 154, etc.
