In the It Could Be Like This series, musicians take on a special challenge: performing sections of well-known works from multiple interpretive angles. Franz Schubert composed the beloved Trout Quintet at just twenty-two. In its five movements, Schubert weaves his famous song Die Forelle (The Trout) into the fourth movement’s set of variations. With Balázs Fülei as your musical guide, the concert promises an insightful and entertaining exploration of how subtle choices shape interpretation. By altering tempo, character, and proportion, the performers will demonstrate just how differently the same score can come alive. A single phrase, a slight shift in balance, or a change in pacing can transform the entire mood. How much depends on the musicians’ personalities and temperaments? Join us to experience the endless possibilities hidden between the written notes!
