Karol Mossakowski (organ)
Karol Mossakowski, who holds numerous international accolades, is one of the rising young organ virtuosos. In 2023, he was appointed titular organist at the Saint-Sulpice Church in Paris; at the same time, he became a resident artist with both NOSPR Katowice and Radio France. He regularly performs worldwide at renowned venues such as the Paris Philharmonie and the MÜPA in Budapest. This time in the Hungarian capital, he will perform on the Liszt Academy’s Grand Hall organ. The first half of his programme features grand organ works by his predecessors at Saint-Sulpice, Charles-Marie Widor and Marcel Dupré. In the second half, Mossakowski’s creative side comes to the forefront: he will perform his own organ transcriptions of famous piano works by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Fryderyk Chopin, and Ferenc Liszt, and will also showcase his improvisation skills, adding even more excitement and liveliness to the concert experience.
