Remembrance of Kodály held at his grave

Leaders of the Liszt Academy and its Kodály Institute payed tribute at Farkasrét Cemetery, Budapest.

Together with members of the Hungarian as well as the International Kodály Society, the commemoration was held on 6 March, the 59th anniversary of Zoltán Kodály's death. Wreaths of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, the Kodály Institute, and the Kodály Memorial Museum were laid by vice-president Dr. Balázs Réti, director Dr. Judit Rajk, and museum leader Theodóra Sebestyén. Emese Popovics, a student at the Folk Music Department sang Hungarian folk songs collected by Kodály and Bartók, and Attila Falvay, board member of the Hungarian Kodály Society, professor at the Liszt Academy, and member of the Kodály String Quartet, gave a speech on Kodály's legacy and contemporary influence.
