With the graduation ceremony of the BA and MA students of the Institute on 21 June the 2013-2014 academic year of the Kodály Institute is officially closed. They received their degrees in Budapest, in the concert hall of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, together with all other graduates of the Academy.
Leading up to the ceremony, there were memorable moments that both students and workers of the Institute will recall fondly.
The last student concert took place on 17 May, Saturday. Beside the recitals of voice and piano pedagogy students, this was the last chance to perform on a concert before the exam session started. The Institute was very glad to welcome a class of Hungarian children from the Calvinist School, where our MA students visited and occasionally taught during both semesters. They performed a selection of songs learnt during the year.
The final exam of the BA and MA courses were held on 29 May, in which all six students passed.
The exams and recitals of the diploma courses went well too, and the closing ceremony of the Institute was held on 30 May for all students. The event was followed by the traditional reception prepared by the staff to say farewell to current students.
We hope that everyone could benefit from their studies here and will be able to put this knowledge to good use upon returning home.
