The Kodály Institute is going to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its opening on the first weekend of October 2015.
This anniversary also marks the 40th anniversary of the International Kodály Society and the 20th anniversary of the Foundation for the Kodály Institute.

The programme will include a festive concert
of Zoltán Kodály's works
- Peacock variations, Sonata for Solo Cello, Te Deum of Budavár -
- the Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen,
- the Kodály Choir Debrecen,
- the New Liszt Ferenc Chamber Choir,
- Péter Erdei (conductor),
- Eszter Wierdl (soprano),
- Atala Schöck (alto)
- Attila Fekete (tenor)
- László Jekl (bass) and
- Péter Szabó (cello)
on 1 October (7:30 pm) in the Grand Hall of the recently renovated Liszt Academy in Budapest.
The programme will continue with lectures, workshops, presentations, concerts and an exhibition on 2-3 October, at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét. Kokas pedagogy, creative singing games, So-system, Colourstrings method - just a few of the topics that will be covered on this long weekend. Alumni of the Kodály Institute will give presentations about their professional activities that have been inspired by the study year(s) at the Kodály Institute.
Please note: if you are planning to arrive in Budapest on 1 October, we advise you to go the Kodály Museum (1062 Budapest, Kodály körönd 1.) before the concert, the Museum will be the 'meeting point' from 12 o'clock until 6.
